🔥 5" x 1/2" Ferro Rod Fire Starter Kit – With Fatwood, Thick Hemp Rope & Tin Can

This complete survival fire starter kit includes everything you need to spark a fire fast — whether you're out camping, hiking, or preparing for emergencies.

Kit Includes:

  • One huge 5" x 1/2" ferrocerium rod with a multi-tool striker (Military Grade, Sparks over 5,500 degrees F, Strikes over 15,000+ Times)

  • Military-grade 6 ft paracord lanyard (485lb strength)

  • 8–10 pieces of natural fatwood (premium, resin-rich tinder)

  • One length of thick hemp rope for fast ignition prep

  • durable tin can for compact, ready-to-go storage

This oversized ferro rod throws a powerful shower of sparks up to 5,500°F, even in rain, snow, or wind. It’s built to last over 15,000 strikes and is completely waterproof — won't fail if dropped, soaked, or frozen.

The included fatwood and hemp rope take the guesswork out of finding tinder. Just scrape the fatwood or fray the rope, strike close, and you’ve got flame — fast.

Whether you're a survivalist, camper, hunter, or prepper, this kit delivers the reliability and convenience you need in the field.

The Only Challenge While Using a Ferrocerium Rod is How to Manage the Tinder. Over 5,500 Degree F. Showering Sparks from a Ferrocerium Rod Make it Easy with any Dry Tinder. Even Scraping a Knife Across the Rod Will Get Sparks. (Be sure to scrape with the spine of your knife rather than wear down your sharp blade.) You Must Pay Attention to Where you are Concentrating the Sparks and Make Sure you are Using Sufficient Tinder. Best Practices for Using a Ferrocerium Rod are to Hold them as Close to Your Dry Tinder as Possible and Strike in on Direction with Force.
Each ferro-rod comes covered in a protective black paint from the factory to minimize premature oxidizing. This coating must be scraped off to reveal the usable silver ferrocerium underneath. After using, simply wipe down with Vaseline or WD40 to protect it from oxidation until you need it next.
